5 Reasons Why Super Soldiers Won’t Work.

#5 – They Can Kill You With Their Pinkie!

When thinking of anything Super soldier related we can all immediately think of the great ones (Like Captain America, Kurt Russel in Soldier, or the the Spartans in Halo) and they are relatively strong. I mean, they have to be in order to withstand the massive amounts of bullets, beatings, and near death experiences they go through in their short lived lives. We would never make them weak or else they would never live long enough to help us with what we need them to do. They are so strong in fact that if you ever come toe-to-toe with one of them you’ll most likely end up picking your teeth up on the other side of the planet, And if you go up against multiple super soldier you might as well kiss your ass goodbye.

#4 – They Seldom Have Emotion

Due to all the rigorous training they will go through, they will most likely be trained in military context rather than philosophical. Because of this they will more than likely rely on their military training in situations that call for it, and in those situations they will definitely kill you in order to complete their mission. Why? Because it’s become programed into their being. They’ve basically become mindless drones driven by the mere thought of completing their mission, by all means necessary.

#3 – Expensive!

With everything government funded you’ve come to expect that the birthing, training, and genetic enhancements, have to be paid for from someone. And with that you have to realize that I’m sure we’ve tried to create super soldiers in the past (I mean Hitler tried to do it, you don’t think we would try to counter him in that field). However as time goes on we may stop caring about currency and start focusing on the survival of our species but who am I kidding right? No one cares about that sort of thing in this day and age? Do You?

#2 – Not Necessarily Useful

We really would have no use for them other than to kill the enemies of our own nations. But that seems like a petty reason to create such powerful beings. To keep the order of one single nation. When it comes time to create and use them I hope that us as a species would understand that there are more important things than the need for a stronger nation.

#1 – Regression

With every story that has been told of Super soldiers you never seem to hear of the negative attributes that come with their creation. When you think about the creation of a super soldier you forget one very important issue, Regression. Which means:

Regression is a defense mechanism leading to the temporary or long-term reversion of the ego to an earlier stage of development rather than handling unacceptable impulses in a more adult way.

In other words they will regress back to a more primitive mindset. Becoming more, and more violent and savage.

5 Reasons I Hold Out Hope For Futurama.

#5. The Story Has Matured.

Over the many years I’ve started to notice a very peculiar thing happen. As the show went on, there were more and more emotional stories rather than random bullshit episode (Which sadly is what I grew to love about Futurama) Their inability to take themselves seriously as a Sci-Fi Animated Comedy was the one thing I loved about the show. and sadly it seems like the newer season take that formula to a whole new level. It’s disappointing really.  Cause while the stories are emotional, and thejokes seem forced and unnecessary.

#4. Better animation.

As with all Animated Television series, over time their budget get bigger and their skills get better. So it seems fitting for an American show animated in Korea would get a tune up once it’s renewed. The overall look is the same but with the rise of Wide screen they changed up their format to fit what is now considered to be traditional sized televisions.

Like I’ve said before, the show’s animatics are drawn here in the U.S. and than sent overseas to Korea (I’m not sure which Korea and I really don’t care.) And to be honest I’m sort of glad they are doing that. It makes it feel like a collaborative effort from both countries to try and make something great. It’s not World peace but hell, it’s a start.

#3. They want to tell more stories.

This is one of those obvious facts everyone should know before even thinking about making a TV Series. What are the stories you want to be telling? What type of audience, etc etc. With the creators of Futurama having free range to create whatever story they see fit to write, Is kind of a scary thought to be honest.

#2. They want more Money.

It should be apparent to the random onlookers of the internet. That out of the many fundamental reasons to restart a show, The big one would have to be for the money. I mean in our society of today you can’t just make something without having the agenda of doing it for free. That just doesn’t seem fair. I wouldn’t, Would you?

#1. I’m A Fan.

This is the one thing that I think people tend to overlook. However, on rare occasions, glance over and notice for a second and dismiss as boring. Instead of analyzing every joke and story on Futurama, which (as it would seem) most people inevitably do. That is actually sad because I moved passed all the lame pop culture references, and unnecessary stupid jokes, and just watch the show because I’ve been a Fan since the first episode aired. I guess the best metaphor to use is the Star Wars films. They were great to the original fans but when they created the prequels none of them gave the Films a chance. And While I admit that the Prequels where a terrible curse on our culture, they weren’t meant for the older generation of fans.

To put it Simply, I’m just trying to defend a show that needs no help defending itself.

Speaking on behalf of my own personal fandom. What do you guys think of the newest season of Futurama?

Ah, the Christmas holiday. A time of joy and/or happiness depending on your own personal belief system. A wondrous occasion were families come together, all the while lamenting each others presence. A Glorious of year where there is good will towards men and the women are subjugated into cooking the food, setting the table, cleaning the table, cleaning the dishes, buying the gifts, wrapping said gifts, cleaning mess after kids destroy the living room.

Putting the hilarity of women’s rights aside. I wanted to talk about the whole Christmas tradition and how it was completely obliterated for me. And seeing how it’s 5:16 am on Christmas Day. I figured since I’m up and everyone else in the world will also be up shortly, I figured, what the hell.

It all started when I was but a 10-year old boy, we had just moved from Prosser to the Tri-Cities (This is all in Washington State! Those of you not familiar with said cities… FIND A MAP!) and my dad’s first wife sued us because she wanted him (and by extension us) to suffer the horrible misfortune of being dirt poor.
It wasn’t so bad at first. The toys kept coming. Of course at the time was to selfish to realize that they were bleeding themselves dry every year just to make us happy. Than as the years went by I began to notice that the amount of presents significantly reduced.

Then the unthinkable happened, My parents got divorced. Now, normally this would have absolutely nothing to do with Christmas. But it happened right before Christmas around 2008 when I came back home from Canada. It all just hit so hard that now anything Christmas related makes me want to choke and elf and smack Santa in the nuts with it’s bloated and blue corpse.

That leads us to today, Christmas 2011, and guess what?! No Presents. Again it’s that selfish side of me that tends to come out, especially because I notice a lot of people talking about what they got for christmas, and I’m stuck being the one guy who laughs nervously when asked about my own presents, and I’m forced to say either “Ha ha… nothing.” or a very abrupt “Go Fuck Yourself!”

And now you know the tale of why whenever someone says “Merry Christmas” I give them a Pissed off expression. Eh, I feel like I’m gonna be visited by three ghost before the nights over hahaha.

Anyways, to make this blog entry a little less depressing I’d like to say Happy Damn Holidays.

On A new redesigned Header for the website!

I thought I’d branch out into more of any anime-ish style with it. I started to think what would back this website pop out a little. than ‘It Came to me in a dream!’ I’ll draw the me and my fellow creator of this blog, along with a couple of friends who help out with the podcasts whenever we get around to making them lol.

I also thought it would be cool if they changed every so often to make it unique in it’s own special way. This new one will go up, than in about a week it’ll change to something… Christmasy.

Hope you enjoy the new look when it’s finished.

Trigun: Badlands Rumble Review

•November 8, 2011 • Leave a Comment

So, Before I Start my review I wanna tell a little story. I was at my local wal-mart to pick up some midnight treats (Ice-cream Sandwiches) and I thought to myself eh, what the hell I might find something interesting. And wouldn’t you know it I saw the word Trigun and was immediately intrigued. Though at first I thought it was going to be one of those movies they made by using the first few episodes of the original series. But NO! A brand new feature! So I bought it, watched it, and here is my review.

To Sum It Up
In a town surrounded by quicksand, an outlaw from Vash the Stampede’s past has resurfaced after twenty years. His name is Gasback – and he’s looking to cause a little trouble. It seems Gasback has a serious beef with the town’s mayor, who’s paying dozens of bounty hunters to protect his turf. One of those hired guns is a beautiful woman with a vendetta against Gasback. Will she get a shot at revenge? Maybe, if she can get through Gasback’s bodyguard, Wolfwood. And what’s Vash got to do with this mess? Nothing much – except for the fact that he personally set off the entire chain of events two decades ago!

The Good
For those of you familiar with the Trigun series. This movie feels like a nice remembrance to the original series. With all the original cast coming back to dub the voices, it makes watching it feel nostalgic and familiar. The anime flows as well as it should by today’s Animation standards, As well as stands alone as the traditional animation style your used to seeing Trigun. The humor as well, is still as fresh and original as it should be.

The Bad
Sadly, Like I said for the good. The Bad has to do with the humor, as well as the story. While both were good, they didn’t seem to flow correctly. For some reason, they felt the need to rehash some of the old jokes from the original series (I guess as a callback the original). Some jokes were clever in there own way, while others seemed forced and out of place. I’m assuming that if your not familiar with anime style humor you wouldn’t get most of them. Now about the story, while interesting, they kept saying stuff about Rolling the Dice of Destiny or some shit. That didn’t fit the Trigun universe. As well as bringing back a character who obviously died on the show (They didn’t even really explain it either!), He was just there, no questions asked!

All-In-All
It was a very entertaining movie they created to kick off the new upcoming season of Trigun. With updated (and old style) animation, with great action, mediocre story. I give this movie a 9.5 out of 10. I gave them an extra half a point for making me remember how much I loved the original series.

Today A Legend Falls!

When I heard this story, I was hoping it wasn’t true. It comes to us from Yahoo!News:

Andy Whitfield, the 39-year-old star of the cable series “Spartacus: Blood and Sand,” has died.

Manager Sam Maydew says Whitfield died Sunday of non-Hodgkin Lymphoma in Sydney, Australia.

Whitfield’s wife Vashti in a statement called her husband a “beautiful young warrior” who died on a “sunny Sydney morning” in the “arms of his loving wife.”

When I first heard of this little show called “Spartacus” I was intrigued. Just the idea of a show that perfectly blends such films as “300″ and “Gladiator” into one seamless show.

And when I found that he succumb to his Cancer I was saddened for both his Family and the show itself.

Why does it feel like we always lose the great actors for Stupid and Natural reasons.

Green Day singer booted from flight over pants

•September 3, 2011 • Leave a Comment

First off…

Who Cares!? Seriously didn’t we hear about this same story a few months ago (Only that time it was an African American Football player!) This just seemed like a publicity stunt being pulled by a singer who is no longer relevant and he wants attention.

Anyways here’s the so-called story from Yahoo Music:

Green Day rocker Billie Joe Armstrong has complained that he was booted from a Southwest Airlines flight in Oakland, California, because of the way he wore his pants.

Armstrong, 39, said on the website Twitter on Thursday, “Just got kicked off a Southwest flight because my pants sagged too low!…”

The flight was going from Oakland, California, to the Los Angeles suburb of Burbank, said Brad Hawkins, a spokesman for Southwest Airlines.

Cindy Qiu, an associate producer at Bay area television station ABC7/KGO-TV, was on the flight and described the incident on her company’s website.

She said that Armstrong, when he was initially approached by a flight attendant and told to hike up his pants, said “Don’t you have better things to do than worry about that?”

He then tried to take his seat but was asked to leave the plane, Qiu said on the ABC7 website.

The situation appears to have been soon resolved.

“As soon as we became aware of what had happened, we reached out to apologize for this customer’s experience,” Hawkins said. “He elected to take the next flight.”

Am I honestly the only one who doesn’t care that this jackass got kicked off a plane? They created those rules for a reason, and no matter how famous you used to be that’s no excuse for not following them.

For those of you who don’t know, I’m not a fan of authority either but I’ve grown up enough to know what rules need to be followed.

What do you internet Masses think? Is it okay to question some rules or do you think we should follow every rule?
